While I took a break from GW2 for part of the year since I last posted, the break was mostly due to having my monitor burn out and not having a comfortable way to play on the 42 inch TV I use as a second monitor. So for awhile I focused on console ports—Injustice: Gods Among Us saw heavy rotation—designed to be played on TVs with gamepads. But I did get back in to GW2, and made significant progress on getting one of every class to Most of them, however, are not even close to having equipment. My thief, is in good shape, almost completely carrying ascended armor, trinkets, and weapons. Next is the guardian with all exotics and a couple of ascended trinkets.

September 11, , They inspired me so much to try out the game, and with the servers coming online and sales being again released, I bought myself a copy yesterday and tried it out for 4 or so hours. What can I say? Well it is another MMO, although it really borrows some good innovations from other games.
Im offiziellen englischen Forum hat McKenna Berdrow berichtet, dass man die Wertungen, aufgrund derer das Glicko-System heute Abend die WvW-Matches neu .
Source One of the problems of Combat Zones is “too much”. Back in Beta there was one CZ in Eranin. You could go there and almost guarantee finding other CMDR to fight. And then of course we have the potential for Powerplay to offer interesting PvP, if its tasks and general gameplay can be improved. Heck, create a gold rush from time to time in OPEN and see what happens!
The Formadine Rift could be the focus of those fights – sufficiently far away from the bubble to not affect those that are not interested in it and sufficiently localised and contained that explorers should not be too badly affected. Also given there is currently no solid presence there a good place to start establishing some solid battle lines and desired areas of control. A hot war in The Rift could be sufficiently vicious and wide spread to appeal to those that desire such things while still localised and contained.
The Gold Standard (Why Loot Sucks in GW2 and Ways to Fix It)
Set in the fantasy world of Tyria, the game follows the re-emergence of Destiny’s Edge, a disbanded guild dedicated to fighting the Elder Dragons, a Lovecraftian species that has seized control of Tyria in the time since the original Guild Wars. The game takes place in a persistent world with a story that progresses in instanced environments.
Guild Wars 2 claims to be unique in the genre by featuring a storyline that is responsive to player actions, something which is common in single player role-playing game s but rarely seen in multiplayer ones.

Graphics Fixed an issue in which light adaptation stopped working when the player started or stopped swimming. Fixed an issue in which certain norn male hair accessories lost their color settings. Items Runes and Sigils: Fixed a bug that caused some rune and armor activations to fail when airborne or underwater. Fixed an issue that would cause Scholar Mossi to attempt to take more obsidian than she needed.
Fixed a bug that caused this skill to go on interrupt recharge if it was attempted on an enemy outside the max range of the skill.

July 23, at Brise Bonbons July 23, at 2: And as you say, the elementalist feels really kinetic and powerful, the sound and visual design combines to make for a very satisfying experience. My engineer felt somewhere in the middle, and only having a couple weapon options just emphasized this. I think the sPvP will be gratifying for competitive teams; the tournament system is slick and compelling, the rewards seem good, matches are short and feel fair.
My other concern is how they will place teams in the automated tournaments.
Sep 18, · Each one has an armor set, and you need to farm a lot of them for legendary mats if you are going for one of those. Other than that, it’s just for fun.
Posted on September 24, by SynCaine Keen has a report card out for GW2 , and while I think the grades are a bit high, I agree overall with his assessment. If you are keeping score at home, you will notice a trend here in the last few years. That should tell you all you need to know about the MMO in question. Most things work, it looks good, and occasionally it will do something unexpected or above-average to surprise you.
The problems hit at level 80, which unfortunately comes almost instantly so long as you login a few times. Once you hit 80 and hit the AH once, you are done progressing. It certainly has not been historically on this side of the ocean. On top of the above, which is very critical, is the fact that while GW2 has a lot of content, almost all of it is the same. Kill invaders, collect stuff, kill big bad. Half of them, in all zones.

Guildex – The Guild Wars 2 Guilds Index The Purpose of this Site This site is intended to provide a central database of guilds along with important information such as the server they are on, their approximate member count, and their gameplay focus. We are not a social network and do not provide any means of direct communication with guilds, nor do we process applications, firstly because guilds usually already have their own websites and means of applying to or contacting them, and secondly because we want this site to remain as simple as possible.
All guilds and alliances will be checked and approved by a moderator.
Starting on September 1 we began using the results of the 24 hour WvW matches to begin rematching worlds using our matchmatching system. We needed to fix a few bugs with the matchmaking server in the first few days which is why our data starts at that point.
I want to update everyone on the design we currently are investigating to help achieve population balance between worlds, and the goals we hope this new World Restructuring system can achieve. The goals of the World Restructuring system are: Create great matches Balance teams Diversify WvW experiences It is important to keep in mind that we still are investigating and working on this system.
It is possible that this system will continue to evolve as we develop it, and we will be constantly testing to make sure the system meets our goals and our expectations for a quality experience. This post is an opportunity to share with you our plans for the new system, and respond to questions before the system is far long in the development process. Restructuring Worlds Even though world linking has brought world populations closer together, it is impossible for us to get populations and coverage any closer because the current worlds do not give us the granularity needed to do that.
For example in NA, Blackgate has decent coverage across all time zones whereas worlds like Crystal Desert have higher peak times and lower off-hour times. This is why, in the new World Restructuring system, we will remove all players from their current worlds, and make new worlds every eight weeks. This will create more granular pieces, which allow us to avoid situations like the Crystal Desert example.
Crucible of Eternity The Ruined City of Arah Collections for the unique weapons for each specialization now require bronze in the requisite adventure instead of silver. A new repeatable dungeon achievement has been added. See the Dungeons section below. Added a new repeatable achievement for completing 8 unique dungeon paths. Completing this achievement will award players with 5 gold and tokens from the dungeon of their choice.
Posts about WvW written by DEmery. The alliance system that I have proposed over the past week is a massive change from the existing server system.
Nice passive aggressive OP. Trying to discuss in-game stuff and getting bogged down by multi-page derails about the things he mentioned are not a better alternative. Making digs at the two most active posters from the previous thread because they said things he didn’t like about the game are a better solution? It talks about the game, but it also talks about what other games do and tangentially talks about business models. Is it OK, or is it verboten?
Or, and this is just a thought, we could accept that people are going to talk about the game, and sometimes they will say things we don’t like about the game, but that’s the cost of doing business on a public forum and we could not be petty dicks when we make new threads. Just throwing that out there. SS, please stop trying to aggitate the thread. I’m making digs because your conversations always took the thread to a completely arbitrary tangent that caused a lot of the thread posters to get annoyed and upset.
This thread is about discussing the game itself, not the business side. Now is asking a question about authenticators a bad thing? Nope, not at all.

Der zweite Bug beeinflusst die Teamzuordnung der zehn Spieler einer Begegnung. Hier wird der Spieler mit dem besten Rating immer mit dem niedrigsten Spieler in eine Gruppe gepackt. Unfortunately this was causing players with low, inaccurate MMR to never properly rise back to their true position. After the fix, players in this situation should return to their correct MMR range.
The goal of the system is to ping-pong back and forth between red and blue team to evenly distribute player skill.
As of 30 November , the website and forum is no longer available. iiNet and the team would like to thank everyone who was involved in the community of readers, players, downloaders and lurkers alike for their support over the years.
Tired of those same old matchups? Hoping to test your mettle against some different opponents? We here at ArenaNet feel the same way. Up until now, servers have been paired up literally 3 at a time by their precise rating. World matchup system might say if it was an evil overlord instead of a bunch of code. Thankfully it is not, and thus we have the power to change it. As servers play the same servers over and over again, our ranking data becomes less accurate and therefore a lot less useful.
So what are we going to start doing about it? In the case of WvW, there are only 24 servers and the matchups all occur at the same time. This is the concept we use to determine which shards may be randomly matched up against one another. There are two configurable variables that go into matchup rating variation: Just to be clear, this random adjustment only applies to the numbers used for determining matchups.
Real ratings are still only changed by winning or losing. We can look at our leaderboard data and apply these calculations to see how this system might play out if it were active right now.

After HoT, I don’t have any interest in this. HoT just felt like an endless unstructured grind, and they still don’t seem to know what to do with class abilities. After getting a chance to play the demo last weekend and experiencing it first hand, the new mechanics help streamline the classes. Removing redundant skills, changing how things work, and quite a bit of re-balancing everything.
They expanded on that with the new specializations and took to heart some of the feedback from HoT.

Sep 17th, , 3: There is yet still work to be done on certain bugs and exploits, but these are all normal teething problems for new titles. As we approach the first month of the game, Twelve finds itself in the grand arena known as WvW. Our incursions into enemy territory has not gone unnoticed, and neither has our defense of our homeworld. World is essentially a test, a benchmark of a guild’s ability to communicate, fight and hold objectives. Time and time again, we have proven that our tactics are effective at smashing past defenses and for claiming locations for the tentacled trident.
Twelvians have achieved this, even when the odds were stacked against us – and this is a credit to your tenacity and ferociousness when it comes to WvW. This week, however – IoJ has had to contend with our greatest foe yet.

April 17, You may already know the first version of this FAQ. I decided to rewrite it, update it and put newer screenshots in. So here is the new version. A very special thank you goes to Tasha Darke for reading through it all. I was hoping for a few bits of corrected grammar but she gave me very valuable feedback on top of that! If you have been following the game for years or even just months, if you have pre-purchased the game and if you have already played it, you are welcome to read it as well, but you will find a lot of information that you already know.
Since the game is still in development a lot of things are subject to change yes, believe it or not, ArenaNet is handling the Beta Weekend Events like a real beta and is still changing things around. Also, new information comes out every now and then which might outdate what you can read here. If you only want a very short overview, the following will hopefully be enough.
